sheer, unadulterated relief
that's what I felt today. That followed a 24-hour period of fear. I like the relief.

Rest In Peace
We lost a good man today in Kevin McCarthy. For those who didn't know him, Kevin was in my major at Ohio University and a friend during my time at OU. I hate that through his death I am talking to my college friends today...I wish that I was talking with them about all things happy, and not to mourn.
Kevin, you will be missed.

Angel Food Ministries
I've just heard about this new way to grocery shop: https://www.angelfoodministries.com/
I think I'm going to try it out! Not only does it provide affordable food to those in need, but a friend of mine said that the quality can't compare! Check it out!

It's been a while...
So, I'm back! I think the title of this post says it all---I've been pretty darn busy, what with work and work and, well, work...
To sum things up:
1. I am transferring to a new school. At first I was very suprised and very upset, but now I am SUPER excited. I really like the school's administration and the opportunites that this journey will present me with.
2. The school year is winding down...March-June means state writing test, winding up trying to cram everything in that I haven't had time to cover, more state tests, and the end of the school year. I think that's enough said about that.
Anyway, there's more going on in my life, but none that interesting. I'll try and post again ASAP, even though I know no one reads this thing!

WOW!
I did it! I have lost 20 pounds in the past 3 months. I just about flipped when I saw my Wii Fit scale. I know, the Wii Fit might not be entirely accurate, but that's what I've been weighing myself on the entire time. So how did I do it? Fish, crystal light, following my allergen-free diet, and a Mountain Dew (and all other sodas) boycott. Yep, since lent started I have lost at least 10 of those pounds. I gave up soda for lent, and it has been easier for me to eat fish than meat with J gone 4 days out of the week. Portion control is a big thing too. It's hard, but the results are worth it.
My goal now is to lose a couple more pounds of fat, and gain some muscle weight. I want my abs back...the ones I had before I was legally allowed to drink. It WILL happen.
Any workouts that you like? Weight loss tips? Let me know! I could use all the help I can get.

Whohooo! Hip Hip Hooray!
I've lost 10 pounds in the last month! I'm not overweight, and I never have been, but man, it feels so good to lose the weight....plus I'm looking to lose another 10!
I'm giving myself 3 months, but I think that track season will get me to drop quickly. Sometimes coaching is so worth it. If I'm not mistaken, my stupid allergies (yeah, the migraines and excema are almost completely gone, but MAN I miss cheese) are also helping the weight loss.
In other news, J is off working in Brunswick 4 days a week, which means 4 days out of the week where I am at home alone. This is the first time we've been apart for even a night since we moved in together....and I really miss him. I hope this job goes quickly, because I like cooking and cleaning and sitting on the couch together. It is what makes the rest of the day worth it (even when things are crap at work. especially then. You know what I mean, we all have those days)
...off topic, but I'm watching the ice dancing I DVRed last night and I think the ice dances is unintentionally dressed in a way to evoke memories of Sheera. Wow.
I decided to suprise J on Sunday by raking the leaves in our front yard. Yes, I know its February, but this is South Carolina, and it was almost 70 degrees. I woke him up when I got tired of raking and we went to Lowes where I bought my very own rake. He even offered to spray paint the rake pink, but I thought that was a little much. We bought primroses and a rose bush and came home to a pleasant suprise. After I got all the piles of leaves I created into bags (my ADD must have kicked in because I had 8-9 tiny piles of leaves all over the yard) I started weeding the garden. I pulled out 2 bushes by the roots (and my back is paying for it now)....and lo and behold, the rose bush we thought was dead was growing again! So we have 2 rose bushes in front of the house now. I am happy :)
What have you done lately?
